IRELAND - Setanta to receive Doughty Hanson investment
Market sources report that the Irish-headquartered broadcaster Setanta Sports which owns the rights to two of the six Premiership packages available is to receive an investment from Doughty Hanson alongside debt funding provided by Goldman Sachs. The rights to air 46 Premier League games cost Sentanta £392m with the first £60m instalment due in April. It is thought Doughty's cash injection will help to pay for this as well as other rights it has secured, such as those to the PGA golf tour.
