SPAIN - TPG backs BA's shareholding in Iberia
Texas Pacific Group and British Airways (BA) have together acquired a further 0.2% stake in Spanish air carrier Iberia for EUR 4m. The purchase increases BA's stake to 10.1%.
Caja Madrid, currently the majority shareholder with 22.99%, is in negotiations with BA in view of a possible alliance.
This recent acquisition by BA would reportedly confirm that negotiations are on the right path.
