ESTONIA - MartinsonTrigon brings MTV to the Baltics
MTV Network’s emerging markets team will run MTV Baltic’s operations, together with MartinsonTrigon's TVCorp, chaired by Allan Martinson, a local entrepreneur and creator of the first Baltic news agency.
MTV Baltic will include the launch of three new MTV channels in the Baltic States. It will be made up of national MTV channels transmitting in Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian. The new stations, called MTV Eesti, MTV Latvija and MTV Lietuva, will debut later this year. In total, they will reach up to one million households. Launch dates, events and programming will be announced in the coming months.
MTV Baltic will mix the best international MTV shows and programming with national shows created especially for local viewers, fronted by Lithuanian, Latvian, and Estonian presenters. Marius Veselis, Lithuanian producer and host with 11 years of experience in TV business, will be MTV Baltic’s CEO.
'MTV is a brand like no other, it even has a generation named after it – and now it is the first global television network to produce localised MTV channels in the Baltic States,' says Veselis.
