UK - Sovereign-backed NFA makes three bolt-on acquistions
Sovereign Capital-backed National Fostering Agency (NFA) has completed three bolt-on acquisitions to expand its coverage across the nation: Children First Fostering Agency Ltd (CFFA), Alliance Foster Care Limited and Alpha Plus Fostering Ltd.
Sovereign Capital originally backed the buyout of NFA in January 2007 for an undisclosed sum. The investor implemented a buy and build strategy, which saw the company make its first acquisition of The Foster Care Agency in March 2008. Sovereign hopes that the four new additions will expand NFA geographically, as well as develop its specialist services further.
Basildon-based CFFA specialises in multicultural placements and provides long-term foster care for its 64 children.
Alliance, based in Northampton, is a provider of fostering placements for its local authority customer base in the Midlands. The company specialises in long-term, younger placements and currently has 75 children under its care.
Oldham-based Alpha Plus provides services to 21 local authorities in the North West of England.
The acquisitions bring a further four offices to NFA's network of nine existing regional offices, bringing the total number of placements in NFA's care to over 1,600.
