SWEDEN/GERMANY - Ratos-backed Bisnode completes SEK 411m WLW acquisition
Ratos portfolio company Bisnode, a supplier of digital business information, has acquired German online search service company Wer liefert was? (WLW) from Seat Pagine Gialle for a total consideration of SEK 411m.
WLW provides a search engine focused on the B2B market in the German speaking countries in Europe. Headquartered in Hamburg, it employs 250 people and generates EBITDA of SEK 73m on revenues of SEK 355m.
Stockholm-based Bisnode's provides credit reports, company and consumer information, direct marketing tools and market information for the general B2B market. Ratos acquired a 70% stake in the newly created business in 2005, when incumbent portfolio company Infodata merged with Bonnier Business Information. The remaining shares are held by Bonnier Holding. In 2007, sales totalled at SEK 3.9bn with an EBITA of SEK 580m.
Since its formation, Bisnode has made 20 strategic acquisitions and currently employs 3000 people. The acquisition of WLW is expected to create synergy effects in the Product Databases and Tradepress business area.
