GERMANY - Maybach family to return as co-owner of MTU
The EQT IV Fund has invited the Maybach family to reinvest in MTU Friedrichshafen, which was founded by Karl and Wilhelm Maybach in 1909. No financial details of the transaction have been disclosed. EQT has also announced that it has appointed four industrial members to the supervisory board of MTU Friedrichshafen. These executives will work as advisors alongside the company management.
Sune Karlsson, formerly executive vice president of ABB and a member of the ABB executive committee, is currently chairman of Haldex and of the Eldon Group. Karlsson is also vice chairman of the board of Carl Zeiss Vision.
Guilio Mazzalupi was president and COO of the Atlas Copco Group and is currently a board member of Electrolux-Zanussi and Parker Hannifin.
Jürgen Grossmann is CEO and sole shareholder of Georgsmarienhütte Holding GmbH, comprising 43 companies active in heavy industry. Grossmann is also a member of several supervisory boards such as Deutsche Bahn AG, BAT British American Tobacco GmbH and Wilhelm Karmann GmbH. He is also chairman of the board of Surteco AG.
In addition to the above, two representatives from EQT Partners and the current six members representing the employees are also members of the board.
