
NETHERLANDS - Rabo Participaties invests in mushroom assimilator
Rabo Participaties has announced that it has taken a minority stake in mushroom assimilation company Van Soest Champi'mer (VSC).
The acquisition and bank financing supporting the transaction has been provided by Rabobank Nederland Corporate Finance Regioteams and Rabobank Venlo. No further details have been disclosed.
VSC purchases mushrooms from Dutch mushroom growers and subsequently freezes them. The company is market leader in the European market for deepfrozen mushrooms, claiming a market share of 30% in the sector. Following the investment, VSC will pursue a strategy which focuses on attaining growth in Europe, the Far East and the US.
