
GERMANY - Warburg Pincus takes 8.8% stake in Kontron
Warburg Pincus has acquired a stake of nearly 9% in embedded computer technology company Kontron AG for approximately EUR 38.6m.
The new funds will enable the business to make strategic acquisitions.
Kontron AG is a manufacturer of embedded computer technology (ECT) and supplies OEMs, system integrators and application providers in a range of market segments, such as data and telecommunications, automation, mobile computing, medical technology, military technology, aerospace, and measuring and control engineering. The company is headquartered in Eching; further important locations are Kaufbeuren, Deggendorf, Pittsburgh, San Diego, Montréal, Penang, Taipei, Moscow, and Beijing. The Kontron Group employs more than 2,500 employees and is listed in the TecDAX 30 Index.
