SPAIN - GE & Landon in EUR 225m investment in Fotowatio
General Electric Energy Financial and Landon family office have invested EUR 225m in renewable energy producer Fotowatio.
The new investors join previous investor Qualitas Venture Capital. Following the transaction Qualitas holds a 33.5% stake, GE holds a 32% stake, Landon a 17.5% stake and the management team the balance.
Fotowatio is developing 960 MW of solar projects in Spain, Italy and the US. It currently has 4 operational facilities. The company has invested over EUR 400m in promotion and development of photovoltaic farms in Spain. The company foresees an investment of EUR 2.5bn in additional projects by 2012.
