POLAND - Enterprise invests EUR 3m into R&C

R&C is listed on Warsaw's parallel market, New Connect, and owns a chain of 15 Sioux restaurants and 8 Lizard King and Fever music clubs. It reported sales of PLN 14m (EUR 4m) for 2008, a 57% increase on 2007's figure, while profits stood at PLN 1.7m.

Enterprise is no stranger to the restaurant business in Poland, having backed Sfinks between 2002 and 2006 and worked closely with Piotr Mikolajczyk. Mikolajczyk is now managing R&C.

This is the Enterprise Venture Fund's second investment since raising EUR 100m in September 2008. The first investment was made in December when Enterprise backed Dystrybucja Polska.
