UK - Atlas et al invest $20m into picoChip
Atlas Venture, Highland Capital Partners, Pond Venture Partners and Scottish Equity Partners have invested $20m into wireless infrastructure company picoChip, alongside Rothschild, AT&T, Intel and Samsung, in a Series E funding round.
Bath-based picoChip was founded in 2000. Having developed the world's highest performance multicore DSP, picoChip is a leader in the advanced wireless markets with its WiMax, HSPA and femtocell products. The company's technology is expected to enable telecom operators to remotely re-configure and upgrade their equipment without replacing it.
The new funding will allow the company to enter its next phase of growth.
The company has previously raised over $64 million from its investors.
