According to reports, Phoenix Equity Partners is in advanced talks to acquire a minority stake in clothing brand White Stuff.
The founders of the business, George Treves and Sean Thomas, who collectively hold an 80% stake, are said to have picked the private equity firm as their preferred bidder for the 10-20% shareholding on sale, with the deal likely to value the company at between £70m and £80m.
White Stuff opened its first stand alone store in Clapham 1991 and has since grown considerably, now operating around 47 outlets and a mail-order catalogue.
