Investec to increase private equity mezzanine financing
Investec is working on plans to increase asset based lending and mezzanine funding to mid-market private equity investors over the next 12 months.
The move comes after the company experienced a 50% year-on-year increase in requests for the type of funding in the first quarter of this year, as private equity investors struggle to raise funds from traditional sources.
Investec's interest in the segment has been spurred by an increase in high quality private equity deal flow, which its says offers a growing number of attractive investment opportunities.
