FRANCE - Telisma receives further EUR 3m funding
Telisma has completed a EUR 3m fourth round of funding, via its existing investors. Ventech and Innovacom have each invested EUR 1m in the company, while 3i and AGF Private Equity have take equal stakes in the balance. As a result of this third round of funding, the company plans to strengthen its commercial development in overseas markets.
Based in Issy-les-Moulineaux, Telisma designs, develops, and sells speech recognition software products for use in telecommunications applications. The company was founded by Laurent Balaine in 2000, as a spin-off from France Telecom’s research and development laboratory, previously known as CNET. It markets its teliSpeech software to telephone operators and also equips the voice portals for SNCF and TF1. Following its merger with global leaders Scansoft and Nuance in May 2005, the company is positioned as second in its market. With a staff of 65, its turnover is currently below EUR 10m. As a result of this third round of funding, the company plans to strengthen its commercial development in overseas markets.
