SPAIN - Mercapital acquires 50% of Bodybell

Mercapital has acquired a 50% stake in fragrance specialist Bodybell as part of a EUR 58m capital increase. The remaining 50% will be held by incumbent shareholder N+1.

Bodybell, which was founded 30 years ago, operates a platform of 240 outlets and reported a turnover around EUR 300m in 2007. The new funds will be used to continue the groups expansion plans, specifically opening new outlets and acquiring other companies in the sector.

N+1 initially backed the business in 2005.
