UK - Close Ventures supports Mi-Pay with £1.8m investment
Close Ventures has invested £1.8m into mobile payment service provider Mi-Pay Ltd, taking a minority stake in the business.
Mi-Pay focuses on enabling pre-paid mobile customers to top up their accounts directly from their phone or online, while also providing mobile operators with fraud screening and risk management services. The company is the European market leader for this service, with a customer base that includes KPN Telfort, Carphone Warhouse, Tesco Mobile, and Vodaphone. The new capital will be used to continue its organic growth, particularly through the development of new payment services, as well as to buy out the minority shareholders of its subsidiary, Digital Payments Ltd.
