UK - Permira-backed Principal Hayley acquires two hotels
Hotel and conference group Principal Hayley, backed by UK buyout house Permira, has acquired two new properties to its group: London's New Connaught Rooms and The Glasgow Central Hotel.
It has been reported that Permira provided £12m for the two properties. The acquisitions bring the hotel group's European assets to 24 hotels and some 500 meeting rooms. The move is said to be a part of the group's strategy to expand across the UK and Northern Europe.
Permira bought Principal Hayley for €473m in September 2006. Last year, Principal Hayley purchased Chateau St Just, just outside Paris, and La Mola, located near Barcelona.
