UK - NorthStar leads £800,000 Cogenta funding
NorthStar Equity Investors (NSEI) has led an ТЃ800,000 investment into software company Cogenta Systems, alongside Hotspur Capital Partners.
NSEI contributed £350,000 from its Co-investment fund, while the remainder came from Hotspur.
Windsor-based Cogenta has developed a technology that gathers product price and availability information. As a result, it is able to look at 2.9 million prices per day from leading high street retailers. The business was founded in 2006.
The new funding will be used to finance the opening of the North Eastern division of Cogenta and allow the company to provide customers with the best deals online at Sccope.com or to their mobiles with the iPhone application.
Following the opening of the data management centre in Newcastle, the company will also be launching an email service ensuring shoppers are kept up to date with deals and price movements.
