UK - Zeus-backed XLN makes acquisition
Zeus Private Equity has backed portfolio company XLN Telecom, a telecommunications provider, in its acquisition of sector rival OneBillTelecom.
OneBill and XLN both provide fixed line and broadcasting services to small- and medium-sized companies. OneBill brings with it a selection of contracted agencies that sell OneBill's products. With OneBill's business customers, XLN now has more than 100,000 clients.
Zeus backed the buyout of XLN in January 2008 with £6.63m equity, with Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander providing senior debt and working capital. The enterprise value of the buyout was estimated at £15-25m.
The Royal Bank of Scotland's corporate and structured finance team provided senior debt for the bolt-on and to refinance XLN.
