SPAIN - Benchmark Capital Europe backs Internet business

Alongside telecom player Swisscom, private equity firm Benchmark Capital Europe is backing Whisher, a Spanish company launching the first social network powered by a Wi-Fi network.

The service provided by Whisher enables customers to access wireless resources in their proximity while offering add-ons such as instant messaging, file sharing, direct access to local services and the ability to set up their own micro community networks.
