UK - XMOS Semiconductor raises $16m for Software Defined Silicon

XMOS’s new category of semiconductors, which target high volume consumer electronic applications in the US$1-US$10 price range, will sample through Q4 2007 and be broadly available from Q1 2008. XMOS expects the products to revolutionise the consumer electronics ASIC and ASSP markets. Foundation Capital are providing the funding along with existing investors Amadeus Capital Partners and DFJ Espirit; Bill Elmore of Foundation and Dr. Hermann Hauser of Amadeus will both be joining the XMOS board of directors.

Heller Ehman advised XMOS on the funding round and the investors were advised by Taylor Wessing and Cooley Godward.
