UK - Ingenious backs Independiente with new album deal

Ingenious, the largest independent source of A&R investment in the UK, has announced that it has made its second investment from its music fund, Ingenious Music VCT Plc, by backing Martina Topley-Birdт€™s second album. Martina Topley-Birdт€™s first album, т€œQuixoticт€, was nominated for the prestigious Mercury Music Prize in 2003.

This is the first of what is expected to be a number of deals between Ingenious Music VCT and Independiente, the label behind such acts as Embrace, Travis and Gomez. Ingenious Music VCT will provide a multi-million pound sum to support Independiente’s established and new artists.
