FRANCE - Varioptic receives extra EUR 1m from Dow Corporate Venture Capital
The American investor Dow Corporate Venture Capital has joined exisiting investors with a contribution of EUR 1m in the third round of financing for liquid lens developer Varioptic.
Founded in 2002, Varioptic manufactures lectrically-controlled optical lenses for mobile phones, digital cameras, PDAs and other optical applications. The company expects its turoniver to grow from EUR 600,000 in 2005 to EUR 5m in 2006, and will continue to invest heavily in R&D.
Dow Corporate invests from $250,000 to $5m in start-ups in North-America, Europe and Asia from its offices in Michigan, Zurich and Gotemba (Japan).
