FRANCE - Oxxius receives $10m in second round

Sofinnova Partners has led the $10m second round of funding for the manufacturer of ultracompact lasers, Oxxius. The other contributors in this funding were AXA Private Equity and US-based Sofinnova Ventures.

Founded in 2002, Oxxius develops and sells lasers used in the biosciences sector. The company, which is based in Lannion, in France, has an office in Germany and distributors in all major industrial countries.

In July 2004, Sofinnova Partners had already invested EUR 2.4m.
