
UK - Accel et al. invest $17m into Seatwave
Accel Partners has led a $17m series-D funding round for fan-to-fan ticket exchange company Seatwave, alongside existing investors Fidelity Ventures, Atlas Venture, Mangrove Capital Partners and Adinvest.
London-based Seatwave is Europe's largest fan-to-fan ticket exchange, with over 1.9 million users. Launched in 2007, it provides reasonably priced tickets to fans of live music, sports, arts and a host of other activities. The company operates local businesses in the UK, Germany, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands. Seatwave has increased its revenues by 2.2% in the last three years and it was recently named the fastest growing digital company in Europe.
The new capital will be used for general corporate purposes and for the continued geographic expansion of the company.
