UK - Amadeus et al-backed Aeopona acquires Valista
Venture capital-backed telecom software provider Aeopona Limited has acquired Dublin-based Valista, a provider of payment, settlement and service solutions to mobile and broadband operators, for an undisclosed sum. Aeopona's backers include Amadeus Capital Partners, Invest Northern Ireland, Polaris Venture Partners and Trinity Venture Capital.
Belfast-based Aeopona is a global provider of telecom software products and services that now offers a complete solution for the "Network as a Service" model. With the model, mobile and broadband operators treat their network and informational assets as marketable resources that can be made available to third party application developers, upstream service providers and enterprises. The new Aeopona will offer telecommunication companies open network API programmes, third party relationship management, monetization, billing mediation and settlement services.
Aeopona has raised nearly $50m in funding from its investors.
