FRANCE - EUR 10m backing for sports publisher

Sports, Medias & Stratégie publish a free weekly paper called Sport. The paper is distributed in 10 cities across france and is read by 2 million people. Free press is a dynamic sector with annual grow in excess of 60% from 2002 to 2005. The new funds will allow the company to launch Sport in the UK and to offer its contents on the internet and on mobile phones.

Complete Leisure Group, one of the investors, is a British investment group dedicated to sports and media, and chaired by Lord Sebastian Coe, president of the London Olympics organisation committe.
