UK - Terra Firma-backed Infinis sets out £1.2bn growth plans

The company is targetting both acquisitions and building projects in an effort to reach 800MW of onshore wind-generating capacity over the next 10 years. It costs between £1.4m and £1.6m per megawatt in the UK to build onshore wind farms.

Infinis was formerly part of WRG, the waste disposal group taken private by Terra Firma in 2003. The investor seperated the business from WRG's waste disposal division in 2006, and it was subsequently rebranded. Terra Firma plans to develop the company into a broad-based renewable energy business.
