SPAIN - Bertelsmann in series-C financing for BuyVip.com
Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments (BDMI), the venture investment vehicle of the Bertelsmann Media group, has completed a EUR 10m series-C round of financing for internet multi-brand retailer BuyVip.
Since its creation two years ago BuyVip has raised more than EUR 20m in funding, allowing it to establish itself and compete with its Spanish rival Privalia. The company has 100 employees and reported a turnover of EUR 5m in 2007, with this forecast to reach EUR 25m benchmark in 2008.
