
Beringea leads €5m funding round for Smartassistant
Beringea has led a €5m series-A funding round for digital consumer assistant developer Smartassistant.
The funding will be used to continue the company's global expansion, and further grow its US-based team and partner network.
Previous investment
The company has received a total of €7.25m in angel funding since 2013. In December 2013, it received $700,000 in seed funding from various angel investors including the former CEO of Hybris, Ariel Luedi.
It since received $1m in December 2014 and $1.3m in January 2016.

Headquartered in Wien and founded in 2006 by Markus Linder, Smartassistant is a software-as-a-service developer focusing on personal adviser platforms in the consumer area. The company's primary product is a virtual personal assistant that connects users' personal needs with the retailers' products.
