Permira's Exclusive Group buys NextGen
Exclusive Group, a France-based cybersecurity and cloud distributor backed by Permira, has acquired Irish enterprise technology distributor NextGen Group.
Exclusive Group stated that Ireland was a key market in the technology distribution space, which would bolster its strategy of growth across the EMEA region.
The transaction closed on 3 July. The existing NextGen management team will remain invested in leadership roles in the new Exclusive Networks Ireland business.
Permira bought a majority stake in Exclusive Group from Cobepa and Andera Partners in April this year. The deal was understood to be worth approximately €1.3bn (enterprise value). Permira's equity for the investment came from global buyout investment fund Permira VI, closed in January 2017 on €7.5bn.
No additional equity was injected to finance the bolt-on.
Founded in 2003 and headquartered in Paris, Exclusive Group offers cybersecurity and cloud migration services. With 62 offices worldwide, Exclusive Group generates revenues of €1.27bn and employs 1,200 people.
