Apposite's Swanton Care bolts on Courtyard Care
Apposite Capital portfolio company Swanton Care and Community has acquired Courtyard Care, a UK-based provider of specialist residential childcare.
Unquote understands that Apposite provided follow-on funding to Swanton in order to finance the deal, though it is not known whether an additional debt package was arranged for the transaction.
The development comes 18 months after Apposite originally acquired a majority stake in Swanton.
The acquisition will expand Swanton's range of services beyond its current focus on specialist residential care and supported living services for adults. The newly acquired subsidiary will look to expand its presence in the north-west of England via the acquisition and development of new sites.
Apposite is invested in Swanton via the £144.5m vehicle Apposite Healthcare Fund II, which held a final close in June 2018.
Company
Founded in 2003 and headquartered in Denton, Greater Manchester, Courtyard Care operates specialist residential homes for children with complex medical and mental healthcare needs.
