Ufenau acquires EinzelNet in first deal with Fund VII
Swiss sponsor Ufenau has acquired a majority stake in Spanish IT services group EinzelNet in a deal that marks the first platform investment for its latest EUR 1bn flagship fund.
The Madrid-headquartered group, which provides services around datacentre & cloud, digital workplace and data analytics solutions, is aiming for a three to five-fold growth up to EUR 100m-EUR 150m in revenue during the private equity’s four to six years holding period, Ralf Flore, managing partner at the sponsor, told Unquote.
The company generates around EUR 30m in revenue with double digit EBITDA margins, Flore said. This is supported by its loyal customer base, with around 90% of its revenue recurring, he added.
Organic growth has been a key pillar to the company’s expansion with growth rates of around 15% CAGR since EinzelNet’s was founded in 2003, he said, noting that the group has benefited from the digital transformation tailwinds.
Bolt-on acquisitions will add another pillar to its future growth, he said, noting that it will look at penetrating the DACH market through acquisitions, as well as further expansion in Spain and Portugal.
Flore said Ufenau acquired EinzelNet as it saw the growth potential around the segments it operates in. Data analytics is growing by 10% plus per annum organically, while cloud IT companies can grow north of 5% organically, he added.
Founders and the management, led by CEO José Gil, have reinvested with a 25% stake in the company, Flore said.
Ufenau Fund VII held a final close after raising more than EUR 1bn in committed capital in February. It invests in German-speaking Europe, Iberia and the Benelux region in education & lifestyle, business services, healthcare and financial services sectors.
