
RiverRock closes European SME fund on €169m
RiverRock European Capital Partners has announced the final close of its European Opportunities Fund on €169m.
The fund held a first close on €74m in June 2011. Fundraising commenced a year prior, in June 2010.
Mayer Brown and Dillon Eustace acted as legal advisers for the fund.
Investors
The German Ministry of Economics and Technology, LfA Förderbank Bayern, European institutional investors and family offices joined existing investors in committing to the fund. Existing RiverRock investors include the European Investment Fund.
Investments
RiverRock is looking to invest €5-15m per target business. Targets will be European SMEs in need of new working capital. All investments will be direct lending. The fund has a five-year lifetime with 5-10 transactions planned per year. The fund will target Western Europe, with a focus on the north.
