
IK-backed Signature Foods buys Topking – report
IK Partners' Netherlands-based food producer Signature Foods has acquired domestic snacks producer Topking, according to Dutch daily Het Financieele.
IK Partners declined to comment on the acquisition.
Signature Foods is known for its salad brand Johma. Based in Losser, the company recorded a turnover of €214m last year, according to the Dutch publication. Previously known as Salad Signature, the business was acquired by IK in late 2015. The GP used its IK VII fund, which closed on €1.4bn in 2013. The deal value was estimated at around €100-250m, according to Unquote Data.
Founded by Bert Roubos in 1982, Topking produces a number of snack brands, including Vlammetje and KaasTengels. The Het Financieele Dagblad report noted that the company made a net profit of €3.9m last year, an increase of 9.4% compared with the previous year. The business employs 80 people and is based in Schiedam.
