IK acquires Offshore Inc to merge with Vistra
IK Investment Partners has acquired the Offshore Incorporations group of companies from The Carlyle Group.
The value of the deal has not been disclosed. IK intends to merge the corporate service part of the group, Acceptor and Credence Trust, with its portfolio company Vistra Group. The aim is to create a global trust and corporate service provider.
IK acquired Luxembourg-based Vistra in August 2009 for an undisclosed sum. Vistra was established in 2006 and provides a full range of administrative solutions for corporate structuring and wealth protection and has an integrated presence across 12 jurisdictions.
The Offshore Incorporations group is headquartered in Hong Kong and is a major player in the Asian market for company formation and associated services. Offshore Inc consists of three specialist entities, OIL, Acceptor and Credence Trust. OIL will operate independently, while IK intends to merge Acceptor and Credence with Vistra.
