GIMV busy end of the year
Belgian firm GIMV has had a busy end to 2008 with the closing of three deals. The company sold its stake in Belgian food company Sfinc to AXA Private Equity and Axxess Partners (page 30), then it jointly invested EUR30m with DG Infra+ in alternative energy producer Electrawinds NV via a subordinated loan with warrants (see page 28).
Finally, GIMV and AGF France co-led an EUR18m series-B financing round for Dutch biotechnology company Prosensa, of which EUR4.25m was contributed by GIMV (see page 26). The firm has also started 2009 on a good note with the launch of its XL fund, which reached its first closing on EUR500m.
