Babcock & Brown office opens in Amsterdam
International investment and specialised fund and asset management group Babcock & Brown have opened an office in Amsterdam, which will be headed up by Rod Oudman. Previously he worked for BNP Paribas as managing director and head of corporate finance for the Netherlands.
Babcock & Brown was founded in 1977 and is listed on the Australian Securities Exchange. Amsterdam is its ninth office in Europe.
Regarding the private equity unit, Babcock & Brown Direct Investment Fund's third trust, the DIF III Global Co Investment Fund, reached its first close during September 2007 with $115m of investor commitments. This sum is now 76% invested in three assets. The fund is seeking to raise an additional $200m in the third quarter of 2008.

Egeria acquires Morssinkhof Rymoplast
Egeria has acquired a stake in Morssinkhof Rymoplast, a plastic recycling company based in the Netherlands for an undisclosed sum. The Morssinkhof family is still a shareholder and retains the management of the company.
