
Bancroft Private Equity sells €107m Starman to East Capital Explorer
Bancroft Private Equity has sold its majority stake in Estonian cable TV provider Starman to investment company East Capital Explorer.
East Capital Explorer will acquire a 67.72% stake in the company from existing owner Bancroft Private Equity, with the remaining stake being held by Starman's founders. The deal values Starman at €107m.
The founders will increase their current equity stakes in Starman by investing an additional sum on the same terms as East Capital Explorer.
Swedbank and SEB are financing part of the acquisition with debt.
The transaction, which is subject to approval from the Estonian competition authorities, is expected to close during the second quarter of 2013.
