
Horizon Capital backs Rozetka
Ukrainian GP Horizon Capital has acquired a stake in e-commerce business Rozetka.
The investment comes courtesy of Horizon's Emerging Europe Growth Fund II, a 2008-vintage $390m vehicle targeting opportunities in Ukraine, Moldova and Belarus.
Rozetka plans to use the fresh capital to consolidate its position in the Ukrainian e-commerce market, where it was the most popular internet retailer last year, according to market research company GfK Ukraine. The funding will also be used to support further growth in the region.
Company
Founded in 2006, Rozetka is an e-commerce retailer in Ukraine, providing goods and services that include laptops, smartphones, toys and fishing rods. It also provides train and airline tickets.
The company posted net revenues of UAH 749m in 2013, with a profit of UAH 34m.
