
Enterprise Investors backs Tahe Outdoors with €3.4m
Enterprise Investors has acquired a 32.4% stake in Tahe Outdoors, an Estonian producer of watersports equipment, for €3.4m.
The GP invested via Enterprise Venture Fund I, which closed on its target of €100m in October 2008. The fund hit its target after only five months on the road.
The fresh capital will be used by Tahe for general product development, exploring the use of new materials and technologies.
Company
Founded in 1989, Tahe is headquartered in Viimsi with two factories in Estonia and one in France. The company manufactures and distributes watersports equipment, namely kayaks, canoes and paddles.
Tahe sells its products in 35 countries and operates five brands: Tahe Marine, Egalis, Zegul, Trapper and Beluga.
The company employs 90 staff.

Janek Pohla is the president of Tahe. Enterprise vice president Alek Wasiukiewicz led the deal for the firm.
