Gecad Technologies (Romania) - Nov 2007

Global Finance, 3TS-Cisco Growth Fund III and several other undisclosed investors have invested €2m in Gecad Technologies, a Romanian software development company. The founder of the company, Radu Georgescu, retains 88.24% of shares post investment. The investors said they have been in touch with Georgescu for the past two years.

Company

Gecad Technologies was founded in 2001 to provide technology research and project management services for the antivirus industry. The company’s antivirus product RAV was acquired by Microsoft in 2003, and since then the company has focused on innovative messaging solutions under the brand AXIGEN. The company posted revenues of €2m in 2006.

People

Radu Georgescu is the founder of Gecad Technologies and president of the Gecad Group. Pekka Santeri Mäki and Daniel Lynch are the managing directors of 3TS.
