Golding hires BlueBay's Das as head of private debt
German asset manager Golding Capital Partners has hired direct lender BlueBay's Abhik Das as head of private debt.
Das will be responsible for selecting primary, secondary and co-investment opportunities for Golding's funds and managed accounts.
Prior to joining Golding, Das spent six years at BlueBay in London, where he was responsible for sourcing and executing primary debt financings to SMEs across the DACH region. He previously worked in the principal finance division at Macquarie and started his career in investment banking at Credit Suisse before moving to Lehman Brothers and then Nomura.
Golding has simultaneously appointed EQT Credit's Florian Hofer to the private debt investment team. Along with Das, Hofer will strengthen the team's direct investment expertise.
The asset manager held a first close on €331m for its private debt fund, Golding Private Debt 2016, in April 2017. It is also preparing to come back to market with its private equity fund-of-funds strategy, Golding Buyout 2018, after holding a final close on €364m for its predecessor Golding Buyout 2015.
