HIG hires Lorenz to lead DACH WhiteHorse team
HIG Capital has hired Sebastian Lorenz as principal and head of DACH in its European WhiteHorse direct lending team.
Lorenz joins from Barings, where he was a director in the firm's private finance division. He also has previous experience with Ares Management.
The appointment is intended to continue the development of HIG WhiteHorse's activities in the DACH region, which is a key focus for the direct lending division, HIG said in a statement.
HIG WhiteHorse provides financing for mid-market companies in Europe and the US with EBITDA of €6m or more and revenues of €30m or more. The GP can generally provide €10-80m in financing, which includes unitranche, mezzanine, and asset-backed loans, including revolving credit facilities.
The GP closed its latest direct lending fund, HIG WhiteHorse Principal Lending Fund, in January 2020. The fund had capital commitments of around $1.1bn, according to a statement.
