Aquila Capital to launch maiden fund-of-funds
German investment company Aquila Capital has entered the private equity market, aiming to launch a fund-of-funds in early 2014.
Aquila aims to launch a fund-of-funds in early 2014, offering investment opportunities to private investors only. Christian Brezina and Jan Peters, who both come from Wealth Management Capital Holding, have been responsible for Aquila's new private equity segment since the beginning of October.
Brezina works as head of private equity investments while Peters is the manager of private equity investments.
The next few years will see plenty of realised private equity investments while new regulations in Germany, such as the AIFMD, will result in less available funds, according to Aquila Capital managing director Roman Rosslenbroich. This, in return, raises opportunities for the launch of funds-of-funds, he added.
The investment house follows a broad investment strategy, hoping to further spread its investments across different sectors of the alternative asset market by entering the private equity sector.
