
McDermott poaches Ashurst's Nikolaus von Jacobs
Law firm McDermott Will & Emery has hired Nikolaus von Jacobs to lead its Munich-based private equity practice in Germany.
Focusing on private equity, venture and M&A, corporate law attorney von Jacobs will lead McDermott's German private equity activities.
Prior to joining McDermott, von Jacobs worked as head of German private equity activity at Ashurst, which he joined in 2005. At Ashurst, von Jacobs advised Palero Invest on the acquisition of label producer Tesa Bandfix in July last year, among other transactions.
Von Jacobs worked for various German law firms prior to joining Ashurst, and at Meryll Lynch's London office for nine months in 2002, covering investment banking and European capital markets.
Von Jacobs holds a law doctorate from the university of Passau.
