Clifford Chance promotes Peter Dieners
Clifford Chance has promoted Peter Dieners to head of corporate advisory in Germany, effective from 1 January.
Dieners will take over from Arndt Stengel, who has overseen Clifford Chance's German corporate advisory business since 2010 and will now move to the firm's Munich office.
Having joined Clifford Chance in 1994, Dieners has been a partner at the firm's Düsseldorf office since 1997. He focuses on the healthcare, life sciences and chemicals sectors, advising pharmaceutical and medical technology companies on antitrust, competition, EU and trade issues, as well as corporate M&A.
In a noteworthy transaction this year, Dieners advised Takeda, whose venture arm Takeda Ventures actively invests in pharmaceutical start-ups, on the sale of its German OTC business to Dr Kade Pharmazeutische Fabrik. In 2012, he advised Montagu Private Equity on the sale of BSN medical to EQT.
