Draft Capital Market and Innovation Act published
On 12 June 2008, the Austrian Ministry of Finance distributed the draft Capital Market and Innovation Act (Kapitalmarktstarkungs und Innovationsgesetz) 2008. The draft law provides for a legal framework for private equity and venture capital vehicles (investment companies), certain tax benefits and contains further regulations, eg reporting provisions aimed at a high level of transparency.
The draft law aims to improve the legal and tax framework for private equity and venture capital structures in Austria, strengthen the equity ratio of domestic companies, increase the number of potential IPOs and improve the position of the Austrian capital market and the Vienna Stock Exchange.
