AFINUM acquires Wallenborn Group
AFINUM Management GmbH has acquired Wallenborn Group, based in Munsbach (Luxembourg). Co-shareholders are the previous owner, Frantz Wallenborn, and Dr Ludwig Bertsch, former CEO of various logistics corporations. The strategy going forward is to strengthen the European network by building up additional operations at the most important aircargo hubs in Europe. The equity is drawn from AFINUM Funfte Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH & Co KG.
Wallenborn focuses on the transport of air freight (road feeder services) and high value goods by truck. Headquartered in Luxembourg, the company also runs operations in Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Paris and Bucharest. The key customers of Wallenborn such as global forwarders, airlines and logistics groups, require very high level services in terms of quality, just in time delivery or GPS-tracking. With almost 300 trucks and more than 360 employees, Wallenborn ranks among the top three players in this niche segment.
AFINUM was represented by Dr. Thomas Buhler and Dr Philipp Schulin.
