CONTROS backed by consortium
Seed investors High-Tech Grunderfonds, MAZ level one GmbH and business angel Paal Nordby from Norway have provided funding for CONTROS Systems & Solutions GmbH, a Kiel-based developer, producer and distributor of underwater sensor systems to detect hydrocarbons, CO2, Mono Ethylen Glycol, methane and oil in water up to a water depth of 6,000 metres.
The company's products are used for risk management in offshore oil and gas applications (for pipeline inspection and platform safety), as well as for oceanographic and methane hydrate exploration applications.
CONTROS was founded in 2006, employs a staff of eight, is based in Kiel and has clients such as StatoilHydro, Oceanworks or Schlumberger. The company is seeking to raise further capital to be able to broaden offerings to its clients in the field of leak detection and offshore risk management applications.
